During the Sports Trainer Level 1 course, participants learn to:

Course Information

Important information prior to enrolment

  • Blended delivery — online learning with a face-to-face assessment (minimum 3 hours contact time) at our Gold Coast training venue.
    The format is flexible, efficient, and focused on hands-on practical skills.

  • To participate in the Sports Trainer Level 1 course, learners must:

    • Have the physical capability to complete CPR and other first aid demonstrations (including rescue breathing).

    • Wear appropriate attire to practise and demonstrate sports taping techniques.

  • You’ll complete a mix of performance tasks, practical scenarios, and theory assessments, including:

    Practical and Performance Activities

    • Plan and prepare participants for sport competition.

    • Support and reflect on athlete preparation and competition.

    • Perform CPR on an adult and infant (using AED and recovery position).

    • Manage casualties with anaphylaxis, asthma, choking, bleeding, fractures, or shock.

    • Complete a first aid incident report.

    • Implement injury prevention and management strategies for various conditions.

    • Demonstrate sports taping for common injuries.

    Theory Assessment

    • Multiple-choice and short answer questions to confirm your understanding of sports safety and injury management principles.
