Accidents can happen anywhere – at home, work, school, or out in the community. Knowing first aid can make a big difference in an emergency. This course teaches you how to stay calm, help someone who is hurt or sick, and take the right steps before medical help arrives.

Our HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (includes CPR) training follows the Australian Resuscitation Council and national health guidelines. It’s perfect for people living or working around Helensvale, Burleigh Heads, and Southport who want to feel confident helping others in an emergency.

Course Information

Important information prior to enrolment

  • The following unit(s) will be awarded to successful participants in this course. The certificate will be issued by Allens Training Pty Ltd – RTO 90909.

    HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid

    HLTAID010 – Provide basic emergency life support.

    HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

  • Online with an in-person face to face assessment at the location specified at the time of the booking or in the workplace in a suitable training area.

  • Participants must be physically able to perform practical demonstrations, such as 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor and rescue breathing techniques on manikins.

    Pre-course study: Students may be required to undertake online pre-course work before attending the face-to-face session, depending on the course delivery mode.

    Online study: Students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet, or other electronic devices with access to the internet to complete the online/ pre-course studies.

  • Blended learning: Online Training with Face-to-Face Assessment – 2 hours (minimum) face-to-face assessment with 2 to 3 hours of online self-paced learning to complete before attending the face-to-face course.

  • Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks. These are detailed in the following sections.

  • This certificate has an industry-recommended renewal period of 36 months (3 Years).

    Recommended renewal dates for included competencies are listed separately on the certificate. For example, CPR is 12 months.

    Payment Terms – Payment for individual participants is upfront, and group booking payment terms are based on an agreement between the client and service provider.

What happens at the course?

  • Delivery of course information and learning activities.

    • Performance tasks and Practical scenarios

    • Simulated First Aid Scenario – Perform CPR on an adult (incl. the use of an AED and placing a casualty into the recovery position)

    • Complete a first-aid incident report form based on the simulated first-aid scenario.

    • Perform CPR on an infant.

    • Manage a casualty with anaphylaxis.

    • Manage a casualty with asthma.

    • Manage a choking casualty.

    • Manage a casualty with non-life-threatening bleeding and shock, requiring minor wound cleaning.

    • Manage a casualty with a nosebleed.

    • Manage a casualty with a fracture and dislocation.

    • Manage a casualty with a sprain and strain.

    • Manage a casualty with envenomation (snake/ funnel-web spider bite)
